The pearl of Southern Burgenland

Kreuz, Kasernenstraße

The cross is located at the end of Kasernenstraße in 7540 Güssing. The cross was built in 1983 by the parish council under Father Anton. The occasion was a catholic day with pope's visit (John Paul II), during which also a deanery catholic day was celebrated, as well as a faith mission. A bog oak was used as material, the corpus was created by an unknown artist. On the opposite side of the street is the Schindergraben.
Report contact from September 2019: Restoration of the barracks cross: Ladislaus (Laci) Weber has once again taken care of our cross in the Kasernenstraße and especially brought the corpus back to a high gloss. On behalf of the parish a heartfelt thank you and "God bless you". Likewise we would also like to thank the Pomper nursery for the beautiful flower decoration, who is doing such a great job of bringing out the cross again this year.
